We ended up at this location almost accidentally. When heading out earlier in the day we took a wrong turn and ended up the top of Panorama Drive in Queenstown. Conveniently there was a nice park with a seat, and an unobstructed view of The Remarkables. It was also literally a stone's throw down the hill to our accommodation. We decided we would venture here for sunset.
When sunset came around, the sky was pretty flat and we decided we'd just meander up the hill and take some slow shutter shots. I had no intention of shooting film in the bland conditions and then all of a sudden this shaft of light appeared! I quickly loaded some film, metered and shot before it worked its way above the mountain.
