Elabana Falls Snippet

Elabana Falls Snippet

This isn't the typical photo of Elabana Falls most people see....the truth is I didn't even see the area which you commonly see on photographs when I visited here in June this year.

This was my second visit to Elabana Falls....my first visit in 2012 was unsuccessful. In 2012 we ventured to Lamington National Park to go for a walk to these falls and after walking half way we thought it best to turn back as we didn't want to be driving home in the dark. This time, we were staying at accommodation close by so we trekked the 3.7km it is to the falls. I had my 11kg son in a carrier on my back and my wife carried my camera gear. Fortunately for her I chose only to take 1 camera, 1 lens and my tripod. Anyway, we got to this particular section of the falls and I thought it would be good to take a few photos...so I did. We then realised how long it had actually taken us to get as far as we did and that if we wanted to get back to our accommodation during daylight hours we should leave. So without seeing the most photographed section of these falls we ventured home. We actually made really good time walking out of this particular location. It is certainly somewhere I would like to visit again...but for now this is it!
