Santos City of Lights 2012 I 2012

Santos City of Lights 2012 I 2012

I headed down to South Bank on Thursday after one of my Uni exams to meet up with Chi to capture Santos GLNG City of Lights. I had captured this great light show last year also. Last year I took a shot at twilight and multiple shots during the show used an 'exposure blend' to get a bit of colour in the sky.

This year I had a slightly different idea. I thought 'why don't we try to get a wider shot and set up two camera's and stitch the images together'. This is what we did.

I found it much harder to merge these shots this year. During the shot Chi's camera must have moved slightly so the images weren't aligned perfectly. I had to try to manually align them which was interesting. Also the auto exposure blend in photoshop didn't reveal good results so I did that manually too (for the first time ever!). So I learned a lot!

Hopefully I'll have a few more merged images soon. This took about 1.5 hours to edit!
