This image is the result of being in the right place at the right time....purely by accident! This particular evening I ventured out to Melbourne's Docklands to photograph sunset. I wasn't too inspired by what I saw at Docklands, so I took a few photos and then walked back toward our hotel. I decided to walk back via South Bank with the potential for a blue hour cityscape. Also, I was planning on picking up some gelato and I thought there might be an ice-cream shop over there. Anyway, I got to this location and thought it would be a reasonable cityscape. I had my camera and tripod all setup and I was metering the scene...when all of a sudden 'whoosh' these massive flames came out of these stacks. I quickly pressed my shutter and then continued to meter the scene. The flames came on and off for a minute or less and then I continued my frame to capture the city skyline for a further 4 minutes. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Even if I had planned to shoot this I don't think I could have got a better shot! I then packed up, got some gelato from a shop at the bottom of Crown Plaza and walked home!
