Parkland Payoff

Parkland Payoff

A couple of Sundays ago I was keeping an eye on the clouds and had a feeling the sunset might be ok. As the afternoon panned on the clouds got heavier and I thought the likelihood of a good sunset was diminishing. As I hadn't been out photographing very much lately, and I had the next week off work, I decided to venture out.
In the week prior I had been to Victoria Park with the kids to play mini golf and I wanted to check out this location for some photography. I had caught a brief glimpse of the city skyline with the former golf holes in the foreground from the car park and wanted to explore more. Previously this wouldn't have been a possibility due to golfers using the greens, but this area has now been designated at parkland.
Anyway, I walked around the parkland and found this area and liked this particular scene, so I waited around to see if the sunset would light up. It looked pretty grim due to a fair bit of cloud cover, but I noticed a small tinkering of pink cloud off to the right hand side of this image, and then I saw some clouds starting to turn pink just beyond the buildings! So I waited a bit longer and captured this scene! I also took a couple of film frames, so I am hoping one of those turns out once I get the film developed.
